Any other Bond fans here. The best movie franchise ever (when it's on form anyway), six actors who have each made the part their own and done something very different with it. My favourites are Connery, Dalton and Craig, with You Only Live Twice, The Living Daylights, Licence to Kill and Casino Royale personal favourites of mine and with a third Craig film in the works, I think it's never been better to be a fan of this series. What are you hoping for from Bond 23, what were you feelings about Quantum of Solace and what is it that makes you love Bond. Would love to hear from everyone else.

Quantum of Solace really let me down. Cameras too close to the action the bad guy was a bit meh. I did enjoy the bit at the concert when the bad guys are all chatting to each other. Great way for a covert meeting.

As for Bond 23 I'm not sure what I want. An earth shaking threat and cool action plus a great henchman for the bad guy. We need another Jaws or Odd Job

Quantum didn't let me down as much as it seemed to do with others, but there are some issues. The editing is attrocious, I don't think Forster really knew how to handle the action sequences as competently as Martin Campbell does, but I do agree, the Opera sequence was tremendously well done and I thought Daniel Craig was wonderful. Also, I was a little dissapointed the movie was a little over an hour and a half, I think it needed more time and room to breathe.

A bit more fun would be welcome, an plausible, but slightly over the top villain would be good and maybe a gadget or too, and it would be great to see Craig crack a joke or two.

My favorite Bond movie is Goldeneye, Mostly because of the Nintendo 64 game.
I did not care for Quantum of Solace, half of the time i didn't know what was going on.

I hope I don't get made fun of for this, but I have to admit to really liking Timothy Dalton, he was my first 'new' Bond, up to that point I had seen most of the movies on television which of course consisted of Connery, Lazenby and Moore, and I thought The Living Daylights and Licence to Kill were fantastic, the latter being a extremely underrated film.

I really liked Dalton as Bond. Thought he had the most realistic take on the character. You really felt he had been a soldier and moved onto the secret agent side of things.

Unfortunately he was hampered with some terrible scripts. Some good action sequences but watching his Bond films recently the dialogue is just really bad.

The James Bond Appreciation Thread Pierce-brosnan-james-bond

I still adore those two movies though, his performance was wonderful and he really is as close to Ian Fleming's creation that the movies have come. What do you guys think of Pierce Brosnan. His tenure in the role was commercially popular but his era tends to divide many fans, something he was terrible, others think he was great. I liked him I have to tell you, GoldenEye is a Bondian classic, I really like Tomorrow Never Dies, but I think The World is Not Enough has a few issues, but remains enjoyable, but Die Another Day is a bit of a disaster. I think the creative direction they went with the era was not a wise one.

Dalton, for me, was the best Bond. The Living Daylights is criminally underrated and Licence To Kill, despite being a box office failure, took Bond in an interesting direction.

They both had kick-ass theme songs too....

The Living Daylights has a great soundtrack. John Barry's score (his last for Bond) is wonderful and the songs are great. A-Ha's theme tune is an 80's classic and the two themes from Chrissie Hynde and The Pretenders, Where Has Everybody Gone and If There Was A Man are just brilliant, the latter in particular is beautiful.
