The Kennedys

This starts this week in the US and next week in the UK, just wondering what everyone will make of it, and what's your take on the controversy surrounding this project, a drama based on the most powerful left wing political dynasty, but produced by Joel Surnow of 24 fame, one of Hollywood's most high profile conservatives. Pulled by the History Channel in the US, the series has seen controversy and some pretty intepid reviews.

I really want to see this but don't get the History channel. Is it any good?

It's a strange series in a way. I don't think it's necessarily being harsh on the Kennedy's as such, but it does come across as a bit of a soap opera, especially in the way it deals with the John/Jackie marriage as his pill popping. There was an opportunity to do a really great, intelligent well made series about the dynasty and instead it comes across as Dallas or Dynasty in the White House.
