Cool Movie Posters
A place to post your favourite movie posters. They can be official, fan made or whatever takes your fancy
Re: Cool Movie Posters
I'm a huge fan of Drew Struzan, I bought his book there last year and you just get lost looking at the wonderful images he made for those movies, here's a few of my favourites, including one I'm sure Phil will appreciate.

My Wife got me that book for Christmas and it is brilliant. So sad how that type of film poster has died out.

I so agree with that sentiment. Glorified promotional stills is all you get today with the name of the movie at the bottom, Struzan made it an art. I find the chapter in his book about Harry Potter always makes me boil a little with anger, his design for Philosopher's Stone was gorgeous and the fact that he was willing to make the commitment to all seven (well, eight as it turned out) but got swept aside by Warners shows you how much things had changed, and not for the better of course.

I happen to really like this one for Batman Begins. Something about it just cries Batman to me.
And this one from one of my favourite ever films.

Re: Cool Movie Posters
Another Batman poster, but this one is from 1989, simple and effective but it works. I remember back in 1989 when this was everywhere.
And this one from The Abyss is unusual and wonderful.

Re: Cool Movie Posters
I was in Latvia last weekend, and during the tour of the city we passed this cinema, they had (almost) all of their movie posters painted.
Sadly, the tour guide said that the painter was fired because of money issues.
I though these looked very cool.
The first one is A Single Man, the second one i don't know, the third one i'm not sure about i think it's Constantine and the third is Mister Nobody.

Re: Cool Movie Posters
Wow, that is a really great poster. I remember when I was a kid and when I visited my local video store with my dad I'd see the box for that movie with that cover and thinking how cool a movie it must have been.
Re: Cool Movie Posters
You said fan creations count so here's a link to a page with some faves. It's a Something Awful Photoshop Phriday contest to make Grindhouse style posters for regular films.

Wow, that actually makes Schindler's List look quite trashy and exploitative. Wonderful.
