The Blind Side - 7/10
A true story, Bullock is very good, pulls all the right strings
I Love You Phillip Morris - 6 / 10
Funny, strange, nice cons and Jim Carrey being very gay and doing it well

An Education
An Education - 8/10.
Might be some spoilers below, but I've been very careful!
Really enjoyed this, when to be honest, I wasn't expecting to. I rented it on Blu-ray for my wife to watch, and I was doing some work on a laptop when she started watching. I eventually got engrossed in it.
Carey Mulligan seems to be one of those people who is ageless, in the sense that she looks 17 when in school uniform, but could pass for 25 (her real age) when dressed up for a night on the town. Peter Sarsgard is excellent as her suitor, in a very creepy way at first, given the situation of their first meeting outside her school gates! His is one of the best English accents I've heard done by an American in a long time. Alfred Molina also deserves a mention as her father, a great performance which you sense is effortless for him.
It was marred slightly by a couple of plotholes which didn't tie up. David (Sarsgard) is obviously tied up in some shady deals, but the activities you see him and his 'colleague' engaged in don't really add up to any picture of what it is they're doing. Perhaps this is the reason the original ending (deleted scene on the DVD) was scrapped, as it hints at his later life and the consequences of those activities. Also the discovery by Jenny of his alternate life is too easy - can't say much more without this becoming a spoiler, but surely a man who with such an adulterous history would have been more careful than that!
Overall, very enjoyable.

Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus
8/10
Nice trip down memory lane to the great years of Monty Python, there is alot of visuals here that just scream
late 60s, early 70s Flying Circus and Holy Grail. Very fun stuffs. As for the rest of the movie, its very original,
the story tho is a whisky bottle short of a good plot, but does work. The character change works well and
gives it some fun depth, but the visuals is what makes the movie, the rest is just to fill, what could have been
the best theme park evver, with stuff to make a movie hehe. Still very nice tho.

Quantum of Solace 5/10
this really sucked in comparison to Casino Royale, i had no idea what was going on, and the way it was filmed really annoyed me.

I agree, tho i think its supposedly a direct sequel to Casino Royale.. but for me, everything is just half mishmash and half Bourne, with the name Bond thrown in for
a few extra bucks at the boxoffice.
I want the old bond back, the womanizer, sweet talking, gadget crazy, ass kicking English man that saves the world from supervillains. With a hint of mystery and sci-fi.
Speaking of bad movies..
Legion
hey, i think its that guy from Lost!/10

Little Big Soldier
7/10
Pretty good action/adventure/comedy film with Jackie Chan set during a Chinese dynasty war period.
There are alot of these types of movies around, typical good cop, "bad" criminal team up to survive or
similar plots, this one is a period piece and feels pretty refreshing.
Good comedy, acting and solid story with some nice fight scenes that are not over the top but very
early Jackie Chan'ish, gives this film just the right kind of feel.

Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs - 7 /10
Pleasantly surprised. Looked nice, great voice acting (Mr T and Bruce Campbell) and very funny. Kids loved it and i really enjoyed it.
Gamer - 4 / 10
What a mess of a movie. Battle scenes should have been great, but the whole film was a great big confusing mess. Overacted, not sure what it wanted to be, underexplained and a waste of what could have been a great concept.

Liked this film, too bad the russian parts weren't subbed, maybe have to watch it again on DVD where the subs are included.

Survival of the Dead
6.5/10
Forgettable zombie flick witch you wont know was made by the legend George A. Romero.
The only hint to this is the last scene in the movie where 2 zombies duel in the huge full moon, pure oldschool bliss of perfection.
the rest of the movie is extremely generic, but better than Diary of the Dead, witch this movie ties into in a nice way.
It had potential, but is wasted much by having to many locations and characters. + the comedy bits are funny in a sense that you
laugh at how stupid they are instead of how funny it is. Still, some nice shots, decent atmosphere and some good zombie killings,
even tho there is to much CGI involved.
the Burrowers
6/10
Wild West creature horror, that starts out ok, but plummets halfway.
monsters are lame and badly thought through. Characters are mostly good tho, and the acting is decent. Story and plot, not so much.

Repo Men
7/10
fun action movie with some decent actors. the plot is very weak and i could smell the first twist before he hit the ground
and the second was allso a nobrainer.. hehe nobrainer hehhe.. oh well, you'll get it if you see the movie.
a weird homage to Oldboy was very cool to watch and it has a pretty good soundtrack too.

Fight Club - 8/10
Still a great movie. So funny and so different when you watch it a second time, knowing what is really happening. Marla goes from an absolute bitch to being so tragic
OSS 117, Cairo Nest of Spies - 9/10
Absolutely hilarious spy spoof. Laughed all the way through and the set design and filming does have the 1950s feel to it. Brilliant
Iron Man 2 - 8/10
Loved it. Great story that moved on Stark, SHIELD and everyone else. Lots of nods to the comic book fans. Captain America's Shield used in a great way, Black Widow kicks ass, great action scenes and well worth a watch

From Paris With Love
8/10
good old over the top mindless action with some good actors and 0 story
Solomon Kane
8/10
Great imagery and design that i think Robert E. Howard would very much agree with. Its gritty, dirty, bloody, and many a fine actor is in it.
There are some scruples tho, but as i havent read the original story or the comics, i don't think i should criticise the story to much, but imo its flawed.
Especialt the ending was a bit of a letdown as it was very typical. But hey, one cant expect perfect movies in this Hollywood infested world
The first half is dominated with great wide shots and really great looking set pieces and nature. The second half is more action oriented and it
looses some of its greatness. But its still pretty good, and as far as sword and sorcery movies goes... this one is prolly the best one in a very long
time.

Kick-Ass - 8 / 10
As good as I hoped it would be. Nice and violent.
Prince of Persia - 7 / 10
Surprisingly better than I thought
The Wolf Man - 3 /10
The original Lon Chaney version. I do like the old movies, but this one really hasn't aged well.
Hot Rod - 7 / 10
From the SNL crowd. Stupid, funny and made me chuckle

A-Team
8,5 close to a 9/10
this one is awesome, and so A-Team that at times i couldn't notice the difference lol,
Murdock is greatly portrayed by District 9's own Sharlto Copley.
Liam Neeson IS Hannibal, Cooper is a bit more edgy Face, but really works out and
Quinton has enough "fool" in him to make a lovable mini Mr. T.
Over the top action of doom with alot of humor makes this a perfect re-incarnation of A-Team.

Re: What was the last film you watched?
The last good film I watched was Splice. It had a weak ending, otherwise I thought it was a suspenseful, dramatically satisfying, humane sci-fi drama. Splice was badly marketed, but is still a good film. If you enjoyed Splice similar movies are: Let the Right One In, May, The Elephant Man and E.T. (in a weird way).
Here is my review of Splice. I hope you enjoy it. Let me know what you think:

Toy Story 3: 9/10
Amazing movie, i was looking forward to seeing this for a long time, saw it tonight in 3D.
This is really a great movie for kids, and also for the fans who saw part 1 when they were kids.
The movie had me sitting on the edge of my seat at some moments, great fun-for-all action, and also some very touching moments.
Go see it.

The first one will always be my favorite, the second movie was not as good as the first one, and is my least favorite of the three. but all three movies are very good, pixar's best maybe.
